Deans’ Alliance of Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools and its members launched a joint summer school programme - ‘Frontier and Interdisciplinary Sciences Summer School’, which is a short-term learning programme for Chinese and international students.
Deans’ Alliance of Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools (DACCRS) is established under the guidance of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education. DACCRS is a national social organization that engaging in exchanges and cooperation of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools. The members of DACCRS are: Sino-Danish Center of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Surrey International Institute of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, Southeast University-Monash University Joint Graduate School (Suzhou), China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy at Huazhong University of Science & Technology, China-EU School of Law in China University of Political Science and Law, The Chinese-Deutsche Hochschulkolleg (CDHK) of Tongji University, The Sino-British College (SBC) of University of Shanghai for Science & Technology and some other institutions from the ten members.
University of Chinese Academy of Sciences successfully hosted the first ‘Frontier and Interdisciplinary Summer School’ in June, 2014. 80 students coming from over 30 countries and regions worldwide registered for this programme. Students not only experienced their professional in academics and charisma in personality from renowned academicians and masters in class, but also learned from scientific issues discussions with scientists and staff during visits of national key laboratories. Relying on the rich scientific research resources and event host experience of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the first DACCRS ‘Frontier and Interdisciplinary Summer School’ Programme will be open from 29th June to 26th July, 2015 in Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou. The teaching resources of this programme will come from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences; courses and seminars will enclose fields of Life and Environmental Sciences, Information Sciences, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management, which inspiring the mind of students and accelerating the innovation of sciences. In the meanwhile, courses and seminars will offer students on targeted practices activities to encourage multinational communications. Students will obtain relevant credits by learning from these courses and cultural experiences. Details of this programme are explaining as follows:

1) Programme Theme: Frontier and Interdisciplinary Sciences
2) Programme Objective: to set up a learning and communication platform for Chinese and international students with famous scientists; to promote learning in trends of frontier and interdisciplinary sciences of important subjects in a short period of time; to enhance students’ abilities in terms of scientific literacy, academic thinking and intercultural communication.
2. Programme Specialty
◆A face-to-face learning and communication with academicians. Relying on strong academician resources from Chinese Academy of Sciences, we are offering you chances to talk with masters.
◆Enhancing abilities and obtaining credits. Credits obtained will be transferred in the universities of your studying.
◆International learning environment and multinational cultural experiences. All courses are taught in English and you will learn and share this with students from worldwide.
◆Visits and learning practical use. You will visit key laboratories of Chinese Academy of Sciences to get improvement on scientific research abilities and active academic thoughts; you will learn from relevant fields’latest achievements and new developments.
◆Theoretical learning with study tours. You will get theoretical learning in University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and study tours in Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou. You will experience an extraordinary summer holiday within the four weeks.
◆Diverse models of teaching. Using seminars, presentations, group projects, discussions, case study, visiting and experiment as teaching methods, making in-class teaching attractive.
◆One programme with joint-universities as organizers: this programme is organized by Sino-Danish Center of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Surrey International Institute of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and Southeast University-Monash University Joint Graduate School (Suzhou), which is for a variety of quality guarantees.

4. Credits Explanatory
Students will be obtaining credits from DACCRS and Global Institute of Management and Economics of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics after learning. Students could apply for credits transfer from their own universities.

Who can Apply
1. Chinese students from institutions of Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools;
2. International students (TOFEL, GRE or IELTS scores are requested for non-English native speakers);
3. Other Chinese students who are interested in this programme (shall be up to English requirements for admission)

Admission Requirements
‘Frontier and Interdisciplinary Sciences Summer School’ is looking forward to meeting all university students and high school students over the world. Admission requirements are as follows:
1. GPA is above 2.0 or average score is above 60.
2. English Proficiency: (to meet any of the following requirements will be acceptable)
◆English as native language;
◆Studying in international school that is taught in English;
◆TOFEL IBT is no less than 80;
◆IELTS is no less than 6.0;
◆Pass CET 4, with good English listening and verbal abilities;
◆An appointment of telephone interview is requested if applicant does not meet any requirement above. The telephone interview tests applicant English abilities and result as PASS is acceptable for admission.
