BEIJING, April 25 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislator Wu Bangguo on Friday called on all National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee Members to learn extensively in various fields and familiarize themselves with the country's laws and parliamentary order and procedures.

    He made the statement at a two-day seminar that ended today of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress, the country's top legislature. It was attended by NPC Standing Committee members.

    Wu asked lawmakers to strengthen their studies and research on the scientific outlook on development and the people's congress system.

    Directors of the NPC law committee and Commission of Legislative Affairs briefed members about the country's political system.
