China Education:Macao students, teachers join summer camp in Beijing

    MACAO, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- About 200 students and teachers from high schools in Macao joined a summer camp in Beijing where they will have the chance to watch the ongoing 2008 Olympic Games there, the education authority of the Macao Special Administrative Region(SAR) said on Wednesday.

    The summer camp, which was co-sponsored by Macao's Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and Hong Kong's Education Bureau, was participated by students and teachers from the two SARs and Beijing. The camp will last from August 11 to 18.

    The Macao students and teachers, from 33 local high schools, will watch two events of the Beijing Olympic Games, and tour Beijing's places of interests including the Tianmen Square, and the Great Wall, along with the students from the other two cities.

    This is the fourth edition of such summer camp. Since 2005, similar activities have been held in Beijing, Hong Kong and Macao, as a way to strengthen communication among youngsters in the three cities.
