Extending Friendship and Love by Drawing Pandas
On the 4th of December, ‘Sweet’ and ‘Sunshine’, two giant pandas, representing the friendship of Chinese people came to England. They are going to stay in the Edinburgh Zoo for seventeen years. Lots of young students were excited when they got this news from TV, newspapers and other resources. In order to welcome the pandas’ coming and extend their fondness of them, the students from Willmington Primary School had a lesson of drawing pictures of pandas.
Before the students began to draw, a Chinese teacher introduced some facts about pandas. The students asked a lot of questions enthusiastically. “How many wild pandas still exist in the whole world?” “Have you seen real pandas before?” “Why do pandas have black eyes?”,etc.
A number of the students liked drawing carton pandas, a majority of students preferred to draw normal ones. The giant pandas that the students drew were funny, cute and lovely. Although some students’ pandas were not like pandas in the zoo, their devotional expressions were impressed the Chinese teacher. The students were also fascinated to learn Chinese characters, like “Nihao”, “Huanying”, “Yangguang”, “Tiantian” and so on.
After the class, the students handed their works. One student, called Nicole, wrote “Save the Pandas” on his work. The three words express the exact thought of us. We all love pandas. There is no boundary in love
