Le Meridien - The first art themed hotel to open in Xiamen
Debuting on 26th January 2010, the Le Meridien Xiamen will be the first art themed hotel located on the mountain park of Xianyue in Xiamen, one of China's cleanest and most beautiful seaport cities on the south-eastern coast of Fujian Province.
"Xiamen is famous for its beautiful views and rich culture which is a perfect match to the brand image of Le Meridien.” said a spokesman of Le Meridien Xiamen.
Owned by Xiamen FULONG Sports Development Co., Ltd., the new hotel is just 15 minutes from downtown Xiamen and Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. Nestled on the slope of Xianyue Hill and surrounded by lush forest and spectacular natural views, the hotel features 348 refined guest rooms including 12 villa suites, all with private balconies overlooking either the courtyard or the mountain.
Le Meridien Xiamen will offer personalized service, modern design and limitless opportunities for discovery. Two restaurants and a bar allow guests to explore innovative pairings of flavours and aromas.
The hotel features 10 meeting rooms with over 2,000 square meters of meeting space including an 842-square-meter and 10-meter-high pillarless Grand Ballroom with natural daylight.
Guests will also enjoy state-of-the-art facilities including a fitness center, indoor heated swimming pool, spa, and a jogging & hiking trail along the mountain park of Xianyue. Le Meridien Xiamen is the only international hotel in the area that offers tennis courts on a hill.
Le Méridien Xiamen also will introduce Starwood's global initiative, Arrival Experience, which includes art and culture as key elements.
The general Manager of Le Méridien Xiamen explained that the first 10-minutes that a guest spends in a hotel will be the most important, as they enable them to leave the world outside and enter a different environment.
The experience starts at the hotel entrance. The glass doors have been transformed into a contemporary artwork designed by LM100TM Creative Community artists. The idea is to turn the entrance into a transition between inside and outside world.
Once you enter, sound and smell take over. Le Méridien’s hotel lobbies provide a unique atmosphere composed of a distinctive scent and sound.
Le Meridien’s arrival experience may start from the moment they walk through the hotel’s transitional portal but it continues until they unlock the door of their guest room.
The key cards, which are designed by LM100TM members, become pieces of art and collectible items that guests can take home as a souvenir. With unique sound technology, Le Meridien transforms the expected and predictable event of riding an elevator into an “elevated experience” through a 24-hour unique soundscape.
